RISE TO THE CHALLENGE

The Corporate Affairs department represents PMBNL to a broad range of external stakeholders including government, media, trade associations and various NGOs. As with many traditional corporate affairs functions, PMBNL maintains and manages media relations in the Benelux.

One of the most important responsibilities of the company is focusing on the societal issues posed by tobacco products. The principal role is to work on developing solutions to complex regulatory, fiscal and public relations matters such as tobacco fiscal policy, tobacco regulation, youth smoking and illicit trade. Through multidisciplinary capabilities in product development, state-of-the-art facilities, and industry-leading scientific substantiation, PMI also aims to provide an RRP portfolio that meets a broad spectrum of adult smoker preferences and rigorous regulatory requirements.

This role will support the Corporate Affairs function in the Benelux by creating and maintaining a network of media & stakeholder contacts in order to communicate PMI’s position on key issues in the Benelux. You will represent the company at the industry and business related organizations and as a spokesperson.

As part of your accountabilities, you will also plan and generate resources to be used for driving PMBNL’s positions mainly in print press and electronic media as well as track the media coverage and the industry issues to identify trends in the public opinion.

Moreover you will partner will other functions to prepare, draft and edit external information for internal use to ensure all employees are aligned with the corporate company views. You will provide guidance to other departments so that initiatives, communication plans and materials are in line with the company policies.

A CHALLENGE, WE KNOW … BUT PERFECT FOR YOU,

Because you have

• A university degree in law, economics, communications or social sciences (or equivalent)
• Experience in developing and implementing external and internal communications plans
• Strong written communication and presentation skills
• Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement and campaigning
• Strong interpersonal skills (incl. long-term relationship building and networking)
• In-depth knowledge of how the media landscape works in the Benelux (experience as a journalist or within the PR department of a multinational company preferred)
• Excellent written and spoken Dutch, French and English
• Computer skills of Microsoft Office and (social) media applications mandatory
• A hands-on and ambitious person who is able to grow into other roles within the company
